Olga Petryk was born in Lviv. After completion of her studies at the Salome Krushelnytska Music School for talented children, the Music Academy in Lviv and competition successes in International competitions in Mariupol (special prize for solo violin and 2nd prize in the quartet category) , she continued her studies in the class of Prof. Roman Nodel at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Mannheim, finishing with the master class examination.
For some years, Olga was an orchestral player and violin teacher, including at the Peter-Cornelius Conservatory in Mainz. She has given concerts as soloist, chamber music musician and soloist with orchestra , e.g. the Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester (Palatinate Chamber Orchestra) in Germany, England, Poland and Ukraine. Since 2022, she has been a member of the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra.
Olga plays in a duo with her friend and pianist Natalia Movchan, also from Lviv but who now lives in Switzerland. The duo offer a programme of Ukrainian music with commentary in English, French or German.
Natalia Movchan
was born and grew up in Lviv. Her most important piano teachers , to whom she owes much of her musical and human education, were Olga Rissin-Morenova, Maria Krych and Oleg Gerega.
She went through a number of training institutions before arriving in Bern, such as the Salome Krushelnytka Special Music School, the Lviv Music Academy, the National University of Lviv (Diploma in journalism) and the Music University in Karlsruhe (finishing with the Master’s and Soloist’s examination).
Natalia appears as a soloist, chamber musician and soloist with orchestra in Ukraine, Germany, France, Italy and Switzerland.
